Dr. Mark Hendrixson

Dr. Hendrixson received his MD at University of Tennessee-Memphis and completed his Oncology Fellowship at ETSU in Johnson City, TN. When it comes to your health, our team has your best interests at heart! Dr. Mark also sees/treats patients with a wide variety of hematological (blood) disorders.

Dr. Mark's roots go back to the earliest days of Cumberland County. His great-great-grandfather, Thomas McCoy, settled in the Genesis Community in the northern part of the county. He currently lives on the old family land with his wife, Jan and their many "critters".  

Jan Hendrixson, RN

Jan and Dr. Hendrixson were married in 1998. She is a Johnson City, TN native and received her nursing degree from East TN State University (ETSU) in 1993. Her experience is well rounded as she has worked in almost all areas of oncology care. She worked with the Vanderbilt University Oncology Unit as well as inpatient oncology units at Johnson City Medical Center and Mountain Home VA Medical Center. She has also worked with Hospice of Nashville where she cared for patients in several Middle Tennessee counties. She has vast experience in the outpatient setting and has helped proctor many nurses in the Upper Cumberland area. She has a keen interest in the emotional and psychological effects that cancer has on patients and their families.  

Marlina Wood, Office Manager

Marlina is Dr. Mark's Office Manager.  She has worked with him since 2001.  She is a Cumberland County native who graduated from CCHS in 2000 and lives in the Pomona community with her husband Shawn and two children, Jace and Chloe.  

Sue Lewis, Front Office

Sue works in the front office doing a wide variety of functions including appointment scheduling and processing of health records for new patients along with management of our electronic health record system. Sue also happens to be the paternal aunt of Dr. Mark and lives in Morgan County with her husband Bill, 1 dog and 3 cats. She is an avid reader who enjoys flower gardening and spending time with her family.

Jocelyn R. Chermak MSN, RN, FNP-C

Jocelyn received her LPN at TCAT in Livingston, her BSN through TTU and her MSN thru UT Chattanooga with a FNP concentration & has been a Nurse Practitioner since 2009. She has experience in Primary Care, Hospital Medicine, Intensive Care, Urology and Wound Care working in Cookeville and Jamestown. Jocelyn joined the UCCC family in 2016.

A Jamestown native, she & her husband Kevin, a veterinarian, recently purchased a historic home there & are looking forward to restoring it and hobby farming on the property. They have five children ranging in ages from 8 to 25, 2 dogs and 2 cats. In her free time Jocelyn enjoys reading, canning & farming.

 Marsha Ashburn, Lab Tech

Marsha received her Associates Degree from Tennessee Tech University in Applied Science and has been a Lab Tech for 23 years. Prior to joining UCCC in 2016, she worked at Wood Clinic & Sunshine Specialty Clinic in Crossville.

Marsha is a Crossville native. She & her husband, Robert, live on the north side of the county with their 3 dogs Missy, Hangar and Sophie. In her free time she enjoys her vegetable garden & riding her Harley Softail Custom.

Colleen Marsh, RN, Chemotherapy nurse

Colleen is a native of Cape Cod, MA who moved to Crossville with her husband Ryan in 2012. She holds an Associates in Nursing, ONS Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Certifications and KCI Wound Vac Certification. She was an LPN in OK and NC for 10 years before getting her RN license and has practiced as an RN in NC & TN. She's a Nursery and Lactation Consultant and came to UCCC after working for Oncologist, David Tabor, prior to his retirement in 2016.  

She & Ryan live in the Mayland community with 2 kitties & 3 dogs. They have 3 children, 10 grandchildren and she enjoys flea markets/yard sales and swimming in her free time.

Gina Hatfield, LPN, CCRC, Chemotherapy Nurse

Gina is a Greeneville, TN native who graduated from TN State School of Practical Nursing and has practiced for over 25 years. Her background includes working in a Surgical practice & assisting with in-office procedures, Internal Medicine & most recently working for a Cardiology practice in Johnson City as a research nurse. Gina & Jan have been friends since working together over 20 years ago. Jan & Dr. Mark were thrilled to bring her into the UCCC family in 2014.
Gina has one son, Charles, who lives in Indiana. Gina lives in the southern part of the county with her Biewer, Hannah, and is very active in FOCCAS (Focus on Cumberland County Animal Shelter) and sings in her church choir.

Andrea, LPN, Doc's Assistant

Andrea grew up in Davie, FL and moved to Crossville 20 years ago. She received her LPN license from Tennessee Technology Center, continued her course work through Roane State and is close to fulfilling the requirement for her RN license. She holds a multi-state nursing license which covers KY, TN, NC/SC. Her experience is extensive and includes Pediatrics, Cardiac, Primary Care and Emergency Room. She spent several years as a traveling nurse and also was the UT Summer Camp nurse for 1 season.  

She & her son share their home with 6 much-loved, spoiled, rotten dogs. In her free time she volunteers with FOCCAS (Focus on Cumberland County Animal Shelter) and enjoys weekend road trips with her son.

Freida Lowery, Billing Assistant

Freida is a native of Clarkrange who has lived in Crossville over 20 years. Prior to joining UCCC, she spent her career in finance, most recently being the Branch Manager at One Main Financial in Crossville for 15 years. She & her husband Kenneth share their home with Angel, their 1 year old Chin-Pin. In her free time Freida enjoys 4-wheeling and spending time with her family that includes her son and 2 grandchildren, Braden & Kenley who live in Knoxville.

Robin Hendrixson Straley, Front Office

Robin officially joined the team a year ago, although she'd worked part time for a few years after leaving her position in hospice. She's in the front office answering phones, greeting patients and making appointments along with keeping the websites up-to-date and placing the practice's advertising. Robin & her husband have a 12 year old Golden/Pyr mix, Candy & a kitty, Sam, who are the light of her life. In addition to her love of reading, gardening & road trips, Robin has been a Norwex Consultant since 2014.

Lillie, Chairman of Morale

Lillie is such an important member of our staff. She has a sweet, spirited disposition and while she isn't here as much as she used to be, patients always ask about her. It's a real highlight when she's here flitting around in her cute little dresses entertaining & lifting the spirits of our patients.
